(Saint) Virgin (August 30) (17th century) The Patron Saint of Lima in Peru. Of Spanish origin, she, as a Sister of the Third Order of Saint Dominic, lived a life of extraordinary austerity in South America, bearing patiently the painful maladies to which she was subject. She died in her thirty-first year (A.D. 1617), and was canonised A.D. 1671.
