(Saint) Virgin Martyr (October 8) (3rd century) A Palestinian maiden of Caesarea who, when but twelve years old, was called upon to give testimony to Christ before the Officials of the Emperor Decius (A.D. 250 about). After enduring terrible tortures, she was beheaded as a Christian. Bystanders assert that at the moment of her death they saw a white dove fly upwards from her headless trunk. Saint Reparata is venerated chiefly at Florence and at Nice.
