(Saint) (August 27) (5th century) One of the Fathers of the Egyptian Desert. He died A.D. 450. The Greeks hold him in high veneration. His name is often written in its Latin form “Pastor,” He does not seem to have dwelt all his life in the same part of Egypt. Hence, perhaps, the theory of some scholars that there were two Saints Poemon, of whom one flourished in the fourth and the other in the fifth century.
