(Saint) Martyr (July 22) (4th century) A Martyr in great veneration in the Eastern Church. He suffered (A.D. 306) under the Emperor Galerius at Ancyra in Galatia (Asia Minor). He was savagely tortured before being executed. The Second Council of Nicaea (A.D. 787) bears solemn witness to the numerous miracles wrought at his intercession
