(Saint) Martyr (May 19) (4th century) A Christian of noble birth, one of the victims at Nicomedia (the Imperial Residence) of the fury of the Emperor Diocletian against the Christians (A.D. 303). But the particulars given in the Greek Acts of Saint Philoterus are of much later date, and are now regarded as unreliable.
