(Saint) Virgin Martyr (September 6) (Date uncertain) Early in the nineteenth century the body of “Philumena,” Virgin-Martyr, was discovered in the Roman Catacomb known as the Cemetery of Priscilla, together with the usual phial of blood. The many and extraordinary miracles wrought after prayer has been made to this unknown Saint has led to a propagation of her cultus throughout the Catholic world.
