(Saint) Bishop (August 3) (12th century) A holy monk of Salerno on the Bay of Naples, who, at the instance of Hildebrand, afterwards Saint Gregory VII, was appointed Bishop of Anagni. Saint Peter died, illustrious for his pastoral zeal and for miracles in the forty-fourth year of his Episcopate, early in the twelfth century. Saint Bruno, his successor, declared him a Saint, and this judgment was shortly after ratified by Pope Paschal II.
