(Saints) Martyrs (July 7) (2nd century) Saint Astius was Bishop of Durazzo in Macedonia, and was there crucified as a Christian, early in the second century. Saint Peregrinus and his companions were Italian Christians who, flying from the persecution raging in their own country, betrayed themselves in Macedonia by the sympathy they showed for Saint Astius. They were seized, loaded with chains, taken to sea, and thrown overboard.
