(Saints) Martyrs (October 5) (3rd century) Martyrs at Treves under Maximian Herculeus, the Emperor Diocletian‘s savage colleague. They suffered just before the outbreak of the general persecution. They appear to have been very numerous and at least in great part to have been Christian soldiers in the Imperial army. Possibly this massacre had some connection with that nearly simultaneous of Saint Maurice and the Theban Legion. The date given for the Martyrdom of Saint Palmatius is A.D. 287.
