(Blessed) Bishop (June 19) (12th century) Born at Orleans in France, he became one of the most learned men of his age. He embraced the Religious life, but later was appointed Archbishop of Cambrai. He distinguished himself by his defence of the rights of the Holy See against the usurpations of the powerful Emperor Henry IV of Germany. Having laboured hard to heal the wounds caused by the Civil Wars of the time, he died in his old monastery, A.D. 1113.
