(Saint) Martyr (September 15) (4th century) A Goth, one of the victims of the fury of King Athanaric, who ruled towards the end of the fourth century over those of the nation then settled about the Danube. He had been converted to Christianity by the celebrated Ulphilas, translator of the Bible into the Gothic language. Saint Nicetas was burned to death about A.D. 378.
