(Saint) Virgin (December 27) (5th century) A devout woman of Constantinople, so intent on good works that the historian Sozomen writes of her that he knew of no woman of his time who surpassed her in virtue. Loyal to Saint John Chrysostom, she left Constantinople when he was banished from his See, and seems to have died in exile early in the fifth century.
