(Saint) (July 31) (9th century) Tradition tells us that Saint Neot was a monk at Glastonbury Abbey who lived in the ninth century; that he was a councillor of King Alfred, and that he retired to a hermitage in Cornwall, where he gathered round him a small band of disciples. His remains, it is further said, were afterwards translated to the place called Saint Neots in Huntingdonshire.
