(Saints) Martyrs (September 17) (3rd century) These Saints were among the victims of the Decian persecution continued under the Emperor Valerian (A.D. 254–261). Narcissus was a Christian in whose house many of the Faithful had found a refuge, and one of those charged by Saint Laurence with the distribution of the moneys of the Church to the poor. Crescentio was a blind man, to whom by a miracle Saint Laurence gave back his sight. The little we know of either is drawn from the Acts of Saint Laurence compiled from oral tradition.
