(August 23) (Saints) Martyrs (3rd century) The details of the Passion of these Martyrs are wanting, and those given in the Chronicles are uncertain. It seems fairly clear that they suffered at Lyons early in the third century. With Minervus and Eleazar, eight Christian children are said to have been put to death. They are alleged to have been the children of one or other of the two Martyrs whose names have come down to us. By some scholars Saint Eleazar (so-called) is believed to have been a woman, perhaps the wife of Saint Minervus. In that case we have not the name in its authentic form.
