(Saint) Bishop (May 23) (5th century) The first Bishop of Forli in Central Italy. He attended the Council of Rimini summoned in the heat of the struggle of the Church with the Arians. He died about A.D. 406. The records of Forli have been again and again destroyed; and there is consequently great uncertainty as to the trustworthiness of the traditional accounts of its early Bishops. It seems, too, that more than one of these bore the name Mercurialis.
