(Saint) Virgin (December 23) (8th century, probably) One of a band of nine holy maidens who came over from Ireland to Scotland and founded a Religious community at Abernethy, on the Tay. Mazota seems to have been in higher repute of sanctity than the others. Her Feast was kept liturgically, and her tomb became a noted place of pilgrimage.
