Book of Saints – Maurus, Pantaleemon and Sergius


(Saints) Martyrs (July 27) (2nd century) This Saint Maums is said to have been a native of Bethlehem, and appointed by Saint Peter, first Bishop of Bisceglia on the Adriatic. Imprisoned by order of the Emperor Trajan, he was placed in the custody of Sergius and Pantaleemon, two of the Imperial Bodyguards, whom he converted to Christianity. They shared his martyrdom. Saint Maurus was beheaded; they were crucified (A.D. 117).
