Book of Saints – Mary of Oignies

(Saint) Widow (June 23) (13th century) A holy woman of Nivelles in Brabant who, during a long widowhood, led a life of supernatural prayer at Oignies, in the neighbourhood of her birthplace, and was the means of converting many souls to God. She died A.D. 1213, and was at once popularly venerated as a Saint.
