Book of Saints – Martyrs in Africa – 9 April


AFRICA (MARTYRS IN). (April 9) (Date unknown) A body of Christians done to death at Masyla, probably near Fez in Morocco, in one of the early persecutions. They were held in great veneration in the African Church. A panegyric preached by Saint Augustine in their honour is extant. They are also commemorated in one of the Hymns of the Christian poet, Prudentius.
