Book of Saints – Mark and Marcellianus

(Saints) Martyrs (June 18) (3rd century) Twin-brothers, Romans, who had been secretly Christians for many years before being denounced as such to the authorities. They were at length arrested, but at the instance of their wives and relatives the execution was delayed till all manner of persuasions had been vainly employed to induce them to deny Christ. They bravely underwent the most appalling tortures before being beheaded (A.D. 286). As in many other cases, their heroism led to the conversion of numbers of Pagans, witnesses of their constancy in the Faith.
