Book of Saints – Marianus, James and Others


(April 30) (3rd century) The period of their martyrdom appears to have been about A.D. 259, after the death of Saint Cyprian, who is mentioned in the account we have as having appeared to Saint Marianus and invited him to share his crown. Saint James was a deacon, but Saint Marianus only a reader. They suffered at Zambessa, an ancient town in Numidia (Algiers).
