Book of Saints – Marcellinus of Ravenna

Article

(Saint) Bishop (October 5) (3rd century) The second or third Bishop of Ravenna. Most Italian authors describe him as having occupied that See in the second half of the third century, and add that, after a long and zealous Episcopate, adorned with virtues and the gift of working miracles, he died, weighed down and broken by the troublous events of his time. His shrine was transferred from the seaport of Classe to the town of Ravenna, A.D. 963.
