(MacCarthen) (Saint) Bishop (March 24) (6th century) An early disciple and faithful companion of Saint Patrick, who consecrated him first Bishop of Clogher and is said to have given him his own pastoral staff. Saint Macartin was remarkable for his tender devotion to Our Blessed Lady. He died March 24, A.D. 506.
