Book of Saints – Leobinus

(Lubin) (Saint) Bishop (September 15) (6th century) Born near Poitiers, early in the sixth century, he in his youth embraced the Religious Life; but eventually, much against his will, was made Bishop of Chartres. He governed that Diocese wisely and well. He assisted at the fifth Council of Orleans (A.D. 549) and at that of Paris (A.D. 551). He was called to his reward in A.D. 557, Almighty God by many miracles revealing his sanctity. His relics, until then enshrined in a church near Chartres, were burned by the Calvinists in the sixteenth century.
