Book of Saints – Jovian

(Jovinian) (Saint) Martyr (May 5) (4th century) A fellow-missionary with Saint Peregrinus of Auxerre, sent into Gaul by Pope Saint Xystus II in the middle of the third century, where, by his learning and knowledge of Holy Scripture, he rendered great service to his holy Bishop in the Office of Lector or Reader. He is believed to have survived until after A.D. 300, when, like Saint Peregrinus, he gave his life for the Faith.
