(Saint) Bishop, Martyr (July 11) (7th century) A Bishop of Bergamo in Lombardy who during his twenty-four years of Episcopate succeeded in extirpating the last traces of Arianism from his Diocese, but in the end paid for his zeal with his life. He was done to death A.D. 681 by the partisans of the heretics. He took part (as appears from its Acts) in the Council held in Rome by Pope Saint Agatho (A.D. 680).
