(July 12) (Saints) Martyrs (1st century) Saint Hermagoras was a disciple of Saint Mark the Evangelist, who appointed him First Bishop of Aquileia near Venice. He, with his deacon Fortunatus, was beheaded under Nero (A.D. 64-68), having become conspicuous for healing the sick, preaching the Gospel and making converts to Christianity.
