Book of Saints – Gerontius of Devon

(Geraint) (Saint) King, Martyr (August 10) (6th century) Son of Erbin, and King of Damnonia (Devon). He fell in battle against the Saxons (A.D. 508). Much romantic legend has been woven about his life and that of his wife, Enid. Another Saint Gerontius, King of Cornwall, died A.D. 596. Saint Gerrans in Cornwall and Saint Geran in Brittany have the one or the other for Patron Saint.
