(Saint) Bishop (November 7) (7th century) An Irishman by birth, he left his country for Alsace and settled in the wilds of Haselac, where he built a monastery. On his being made Bishop of Strassburg, he founded another (Saint Thomas’s), chiefly for his own countrymen. After an Episcopate of eight years, he passed away A.D. 687, and was buried in his monastery church of Saint Thomas.
