(Saint) Bishop (December 12) (6th century) An austere Cenobite of Irish birth who, trained in the School of Menevia in Wales, became master of the Irish School of Clonard, where Saint Columba was numbered among his three thousand disciples, and where he earned the title of “Master of the Irish Saints.” He is recognised as the Patron Saint of the Diocese of Meath, of which he was Bishop.
