Book of Saints – Fachanan


FACHANAN (Saint) Bishop (August 14) (6th century) The first Bishop of Ross (Ireland), where he founded the monastery of Ross-Altair, which became a centre of pilgrimage and a celebrated school of learning. He was remarkable for his eloquence and is venerated as Patron of the Diocese of Ross.
