EUNAN (Saint) Bishop (September 23) (8th century) A Saint whose zeal and good works were so eminent that he has come to be venerated as the Patron Saint of his Diocese of Raphoe in Ulster. By many he is supposed to be the Saint Adamnan of Iona who wrote the Life of Saint Columba. In that case, he, after establishing Raphoe, must have retired, as was not uncommon in his time, to the Scottish monastery to end his days in the cloister.
