Book of Saints – Eugendus


EUGENDUS (Saint) Abbot (January 1) (6th century) The fourth Abbot of Condat (Saint Claude) in the Jura Mountains. He entered the monastery at the age of seven years and persevered there till his death (A.D. 510), at the age of sixty-one. A model of religious excellence and of humility, and especially zealous for the observance of monastic poverty, he was ever affable to all and universally beloved.
