EUDOXIUS, ZENO, MACARIUS and OTHERS (Saints) Martyrs (September 5) (2nd century) A body of Christian soldiers said to have been more than a thousand in number, stationed in Gaul in the time of Trajan, early in the second century, and on their refusal to sacrifice to the gods, transferred to Armenia, where, encouraged by Eudoxius their leader, they bravely gave their lives for Christ.
