ERASTUS (Saint) Bishop, Martyr (July 26) (First century) The Treasurer of the city of Corinth (Romans 16:23), converted by Saint Paul and one of his helpers in the Apostolate (Acts 19:22), especially at Corinth (2 Timothy 4:20). The Greek tradition is that he became Bishop of Philippi Paneas in Palestine. That of the Latins that his See was Philippi in Macedonia, and that he in the end was put to death for the Faith.
