EPHYSIUS (Saint) Martyr (January 15) (4th century) A Palestinian who, coming to Rome, gained the favour of the Emperor Diocletian, and was by him made Governor of the Island of Sardinia, where he was converted to Christianity, and in consequence degraded from his office, tortured and beheaded about A.D. 303.
