Book of Saints – Daniel – 11 September


DANIEL (Saint) Bishop (September 11) (6th century) Consecrated first Bishop of Bangor by Saint Dubritius, he governed his See with zeal and success. After his death (A.D. 545) the Cathedral at Bangor and other churches were dedicated in his honour. He was buried in the Isle of Bardsey. His Festival is variously kept on November 23 and December 1.
