CALLISTRATUS and OTHERS (Saints) (September 26) Martyrs (3rd century) A body of fifty African soldiers, put to death at Constantinople under the Emperor Diocletian at the close of the third century for the crime of being Christians. It is related of them that they were sewn up in sacks and cast into the sea.
