Book of Saints – Calliopa


CALLIOPA (Saint) Martyr (June 8) (3rd century) An Eastern Martyr who was subjected to unheard-of tortures and afterwards beheaded. The Greek Menaea, while giving many details, are silent as to the place where she suffered. The probable date is the short reign of the Emperor Decius, about A.D. 250.
