Book of Saints – Brixius


BRIXIUS (BRITIUS, BRICCIUS, BRICE) (November 13) (Saint) Bishop (5th century) A native of Tours and disciple of the great Saint Martin, in the monastery of Marmoutiers. He himself was raised to the Archbishopric on the death of his master. Owing to calumny he suffered exile; but was restored to his See by the authority of the Pope, who was convinced of his innocence. He died seven years after his return, A.D. 447. His body was translated to Clermont in Auvergne by Saint Gregory of Tours (A.D. 580).
