Book of Saints – Birillus


BIRILLUS (Saint) Bishop (March 21) (1st century) Said to have been consecrated first Bishop of Catania in Sicily by Saint Peter the Apostle, with whom he had travelled from Antioch, about A.D. 42. By his preaching and miracles, it is added, Saint Birillus converted a vast number of pagans to Christianity, and died in extreme old age.
