Book of Saints – Apollonius and Eugene


APOLLONIUS and EUGENE (Saints) Martyrs (July 23) (Date unknown.) Roman Martyrs of whom little is known except that in the metrical Calendar of Dijon Saint Apollonius is mentioned as having suffered at the stake. He was not burned, but shot at and pierced with arrows. Saint Eugene is described as having courageously, after being sentenced to death as a Christian, of his own accord offered his neck to the axe of the executioner.
