Book of Saints – Aphraates


APHRAATES (Saint) Confessor (April 7) (4th century) An anchoret of Persian birth who settled at Edessa in Mesopotamia. Later on he removed to Antioch, where he strengthened the Faith of the Catholics by his sermons and miracles, during the Arian persecution, under the Emperor Valens.
