Book of Saints – Apelles and Lucius


APELLES and LUCIUS (Saints) Bishops, Martyrs (April 22) (1st century) Disciples of Our Lord, probably of the seventy-two chosen by Him as missionaries. Traditionally, Saint Apelles is held to have been Bishop of Smyrna, and Saint Lucius Bishop of Laodicea. Both are mentioned by Saint Paul in his Epistle to the Romans (16:10,21).
