Book of Saints – Angilbert


ANGILBERT (Saint) Abbot. (February 18) (9th century) A Frankish nobleman, married to a daughter of Charlemagne, and a distinguished and successful defender of his country against the marauding Norsemen. Both he and his wife elected to end their days in religion. Saint Angilbert died, Abbot of the monastery of Saint Riquier, A.D. 813.
