Book of Saints – Anastasius – 27 April


ANASTASIUS (Saint) Pope. (April 27) (5th century) A Roman by birth, who became Pope in the year 398. He is noted for the zeal with which he repressed the spreading errors of Origenism. Saint Jerome describes him as “a man of holy life and rich in his very poverty.” He passed away A.D. 402.
