Book of Saints – Amadeus of Savoy


AMADEUS of SAVOY (Blessed) Confessor (March 31) (15th century) A Duke of Savoy who governed his states in such manner as not only to make himself beloved by his subjects, but also by his holy example to promote religion among them. He died at Vercelli in Piedmont, A.D. 1472, when in the thirty-eighth year of his age. He is the Patron Saint of the Royal House of Piedmont, of which he is a member.
