AEMILIAN (St.) Bp. (Sept. 11) (6th cent.) In the ancient records of the Church of Vercelli (Piedmont), Saint AEmilian is said to have lived as a hermit for forty years before his elevation to the Bishopric of that city. He thrice visited Rome and attended the three Synods held by Pope Saint Symmachus. He died, a centenarian in the year 520. Translations of his relics took place in the year 1181 and again towards the end of the seventeenth century.
