= Mother Benign of Our Redeeming Lord
Antiphon of Our Lady for Vespers from the Saturday before the first Sunday of Advent to the feast of the Purification, inclusive. It is ascribed to Hermann Contractus. There are several translations. The English title given is by D. Hunter-Blair; the first verse reads
Mother benign of our redeeming Lord,
Star of the sea and portal of the skies,
Unto thy fallen people help afford –
Fallen, but striving still anew to rise.
